The Specialty Compounding Labs
Imagine your large community pharmacy is not just one open space, but a collection of highly specialized, locked-access labs in the back. One lab is a USP <800> compliant cleanroom exclusively for preparing hazardous oncology drugs. Another is a pediatric compounding lab with micro-dosing equipment. A third is a dedicated psychotropic lab for preparing long-acting injectable antipsychotics.
To work in each lab, you need more than your general pharmacist license; you need specialized training. The rules, drugs, and calculations are entirely different in each one.
