Your role is to build and lead a team of compliance specialists, setting the direction for auditing, surveillance, and educational initiatives. You analyze systemic risks, report findings directly to executive leadership, and serve as the ultimate point of contact for the DEA and other law enforcement agencies. By developing a culture of compliance and accountability, you protect the organization from significant legal, financial, and reputational harm while safeguarding patient and community health.

Designing, managing, and evaluating the effectiveness of the comprehensive controlled substance compliance program.

Conducting high-level risk assessments to identify systemic vulnerabilities and implementing strategic corrective action plans.

Acting as the primary liaison with the DEA, Boards of Pharmacy, and legal counsel on all controlled substance matters.

Team Leadership & Mentorship
Leading, training, and mentoring a team of compliance officers, auditors, and analysts to execute the program’s objectives.

You review and approve a new organization-wide policy on controlled substance waste that one of your specialists drafted. Afterwards, you join a conference call with outside legal counsel to discuss the implications of newly proposed state legislation on prescription monitoring programs.
