All fees are listed in U.S. dollars and must be paid at the time of service via a valid credit card. CPS does not accept personal checks.

Exam Retake Fee $350 For candidates who need to retake an examination after an unsuccessful attempt.

Certification Periods & Status

Your Certification Cycle

Your CPS certification is valid for three years, beginning on the date you successfully pass your exam. Each year, you must complete the renewal process to maintain your "Active" status.

Grace Period

If you do not complete the renewal process by your expiration date, your certification will enter a 30-day "Grace Period." During this time, your credential is still considered active, but you must pay the Reinstatement Fee in addition to the annual fee to renew.

Inactive & Lapsed Status

Failure to renew by the end of the 30-day grace period will result in your certification status changing to "Inactive." An inactive certification is not valid for practice. If your certification remains inactive for more than one year, it will be considered permanently "Lapsed," and you will be required to reapply and retake the examination to regain the credential.
